7 Days Remaining
We got here a couple of hours ago… Wow that was a long trip… Largely uneventful however…
Becca and I had breakfast at the Luna Park Cafe, wonderful place to eat, and then she dropped me off at the airport where I walked into the ticketing area and holy shit would you believe it!! The longest lines I have ever seen in my life!! I shold have taken some pictures but I was worried that that may not have gone over well with the TSA folks, (Not to be confused with TSA, which is the whole point of this trip to Nashville.
After listening for a short while, I came to the conclusion that several cruises had just unloaded all of their people simultaneously into SEA-TAC Airport, and United Airlines seemed to be servicing an unfair majority of them. So there I was, in a sea of over 1000 faces looking for two short people, my charges for the next week. We had unwisely decided to meet at the United Ticketing counter at 11:00… and it was 10:50! I decided to head for High Ground, and hope that hey could find me, which worked rather well. We were together by 5 past. Woo Hoo!!! Now to get in line with all of these tourists and see if we couldn’t get to our flight before it left without us.
OK United and TSA security were rather efficient at handling all of those people and we were waiting at our gate roughly an hour later… Not too bad given the number of bodies in the terminal. While waiting for our plane, I saw this little bird land on the seat back just a few rows over from where we were. It was so peaceful and relaxed given the noise and craziness going on around it. He just sat there perched for about 10 minutes while people walked within feet of him, not even noticing he was there. It was incredible. I am glad I got a photo if it.
The Flights were uninteresting, until we landed in Nashville. The United folks had misplaced an important piece of our luggage. Kiran’s Poster-board presentation for Desktop Publishing was missing. After filling out all of the necessary paperwork we got into a cab and headed for the Hotel…
This is not your average Hotel, this place is huge… I walked in and the atrium courtyard blew me away… It is massive… But that is not all… I later came to find out that there are several more courtyards like this one… each one is larger than the last… I will do some exploring tomorrow with my camera and see what I can come up with.
For now however, I am laying off.
