Much has changed in the last month or so….. In the middle of October our Network Admin resigned… We did lots of looking and not finding in our price range (we are a school after all) and in the end, I said I would do it. I got a nice raise and a new job with new responsibilities. I was excited.
Yesterday, the router failed. A Cisco 2801. Brand new last April/May. For some reason we have no support contract on this thing. I get our vendor in today and we begin working on it… ( I need to get some training in Cisco’s IOS) and after a few hours, and a couple calls to Cisco he pronounces it dead. He has a possible solution to the problem however… I am assured that tomorrow morning, when I meet him at 7:30 AM that he will have a solution for us.
I am not thrilled about this.
