Going once, twice, three times… sold! to the man in black

The place I work had an auction this past weekend… It was a rather big affair. For the auction I donated over $700 worth of web design and hosting, spent two days on a Power Point of all the live auction items, and otherwise helped out whenever I could. Yet I still caught crap for not attending, and for not volunteering during the event.  Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

Anyway, roughly 50% of the proceeds are going to the athletic department… which sounds like a typical move in this day and age…  but not so here at this school.  We haven’t put money into athletic programs in quite a while.  Our athletics are currently nothing special.  Don’t get me wrong, our athletic department works very hard to make things great… but sometimes it just takes money.  I think this is an excellent way to bring up enrollment and give the kids something to do as well.

Here I am on Monday morning…  wondering just how much the auction made… the target was $150,000.00 My question… did we get that much?  I am sure that an e-mail will come out within the hour… and then I will no longer wonder.

Well…  Time to open up the lab…
