We made an offer on a house in Tacoma today…. Our offer was accepted. It looks like we will be moving much sooner than I had anticipated back in December when we made the decision. As soon as we eard the offer was accepted, we went into “list our house” mode. We have been working all day long to enact the changes suggested by our selling agent so that we could list our house as early as next week. There is little left to do except in my office and in my closet. Beyond that, a few details here and there… Oh yeah… there is the shed too.
Tomorrow the handyman comes to fix the bits and pieces that need fixing, and the landscaping guy comes to give an estimate on what it will cost to clean up after that big windstorm we had a few months back.
Currently the Kitchen, living room, bedrooms, dining area, and bathrooms are down to bare bones… They are not empty spaces… but they now lack our particular character. It is sad for me on one level, for I love West Seattle and I love this house so much… But it makes sense with both of us working and spending most of our time in Tacoma.
The new house is beautiful, larger than our current one, with hardwood floors and great features. The only drawbacks in my mind are that it is on N. 30th St. which is a busy busy street, and that it has a pool. The pool is a drawback right now because I don’t fancy myself a pool boy, and a pool in the Pacific Northwest is currently a liability when it comes time to sell a house. Perhaps Global Warming will work in my favor on this one though
Am I excited… Yeah… I really am… I hate change… but moving down there will put me closer to the majority of my friends, and it will put me closer to work… That may be a bad thing though..
Well… I think I am going to head to bed now… Very very tired.
