Tacoma here we come
Well… It is decided. We will be moving to Tacoma, WA shortly. It is much closer to work for both of us. I am excited, because of my proximity to work and to my friends, but I am going to miss West Seattle a whole lot. This place is cool, hip and a lot of fun, not to mention the hot babes down ont he beach. Our house is great too! I really love this house. So… there will be a lot for me to miss, but I think that Tacoma can make up for a lot in many other ways. Like I said, being closer to work, and closer to most of my friends will be a serious bonus. Also I think a house in T Town will be a really great investment. We can still get on near the ground floor, and from there the prices are just heading up, up, up.
I will keep you all posted as we get more info.
A Red Line Connects Us
Abby has been in Santa Monica raising awareness of the true cost of war, the loss of life.
She has a website that explains everything, and a blog with her day to day thoughts. This is something you should check out regardless of you politics.
“I no longer wish to live my life as usual without acknowledging the widespread violence in the world today and memorializing those killed and injured in the many wars and other conflicts taking place. I chose this very public expression of my concerns in order to provide others who feel the same need a means of expressing their concerns too. As you will see on this site, there are many ways to participate in this project – some very private, and some public – but all conducted in silence. My hope is that together, through our shared participation, we can create a shift in consciousness, where no humanity is devalued and human life is held sacred.”

Microsoft buys iView Multimedia
I noticed this the other day, before I left for Islandwood
My favorite digital asset management software is now owned by Microsoft. This is depressing news. iView MediaPro, a product that I have come to depend on for a long time, looks like it may be nearing the end of it’s life. Surely the i in iView will need to go… I mean… Can MS even operate an iProject? I really think this will be a negative thing for those of us who have come to rely on the program for both Mac’s and PCs.
It is a sad sad day :(
Gas Thieves
Some clever thieves have figured out how to steal gas from a gas station without paying for it. About $81,000 worth. It seems they disconnect the pump from the central computer in the station and it becomes a free pump.
Check it out here at CNN
You can also check out this Digg discussion about it.
I think it is a fantastically clever way of doing this… but it is still illegal
Macworld
Just got back to Chris’s from MacworldSF and I am really not that impressed. The show was very small especially when compared to the ones I have been to in NYC… Apple has released some great products… including the Mac mini which I will be purchasing for use in my home as a file server. $600 How can you go wrong?? I love it.
Now I can finally get rid of my 9600!! and the awful AMD64 that I have…
I am gonna do this.
