Seeds of Compassion
Saturday was a “once in a lifetime” type of day. It was beautiful, sunny, warm, and positively un-Pacific Northwest like, at least for April. We headed up to Seattle for one of the Seeds of Compassion event - Compassion in Action. I say it was a “once in a lifetime” type of day not because of the weather, but because I was able to see the His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama speak. The man is brilliant! The man is humble! I will remember this experience for a long time.
Netflix Thief
This is pretty great. In fact I love it. While I have not yet fallen victim to the evil Netflix Thief, I have several friends who have…and one whom Netflix decided they would no longer send videos to.
Justice prevails
Photogroup
I would love to find a group of people in Tacoma who want to get together and float about the city taking photos…
At the Mandolin Cafe
We walked into the Mandolin Cafe just a few minues ago to find a number of friends. Funny thing is that they all knew each other.. And we didn't know it.
As we walked in we saw a car that looked an awful lot like Katherine's car... It wasn't, but who does Becca bump into immediately? Anna - who is a good friend of Katherine's...
Anna is talking to a woman in her building, who works with my co-worker's husband.
An illustration of the smallness of the world.
User managed PCs
Try reading this article in InfoWorld. I am beginning to find more and more support for the idea of letting users manage their own hardware. I have been trying to get Macs into the building for quite a while. We came up with a few cases to allow certain people have Macs. This year, we are adding an additional Mac user… and the Director of Tech just realized that the Macs are actually equal in price to the PCs we are buying. What I am not sure she has seen yet is that they are better machines, both in construction and in components.
We will have to wait to see how this one goes down.
